특히 송언석 예비후보 측은 승리를 자신하며, 경쟁 상대에 대한 우위를 점하고 있다는 분위기다.

송언석 예비후보는 최근 인터뷰를 통해, "지난 6년간 의정 활동과 김천 발전을 위한 끊임없는 노력이 시민들에게 잘 전달되었다고 믿는다. 이번 여론조사 결과는 그 노력의 결실을 보여줄 것"이라며 승리에 대한 강한 자신감을 표출했다.

김천 일반 시민 및 책임당원을 대상으로 한 이번 여론조사는 두 후보 간의 지지율을 가늠하는 중요한 척도가 될 예정이다. 송언석 예비후보 측은 여론조사 초기 결과를 바탕으로 내부적으로 유리한 위치에 있다고 평가하고 있다.

또한 김오진 예비후보는 송언석 후보가 공직선거법을 위반했다며 김천시 선관위와 경북도 선관위에 제보하고, 당 공관위에 제재조치를 요구했다. 이와 관련하여, 송언석 후보 측은 아직 구체적인 입장을 밝히지 않았다.

김천 시민들 사이에서는 경선 과정에서의 공정성과 투명성에 대한 기대감이 높아지고 있다.
