[구미=황악신문] 경북도 구미시는 구미문화재단의 공식 출범을 앞두고 있다고 13일 밝혔다. 이는 지역의 문화 경쟁력 강화와 문화예술 활동 지원을 통한 지역 발전을 목표로 한다. 구미문화재단은 오는 4월 행정안전부의 지방 출자출연기관 지정고시를 위한 심의를 완료한 후, 5월 중에 공식 출범식을 개최할 예정이다.

재단의 주된 역할은 문화사업의 진흥과 시민들의 자율적인 문화예술 활동을 지원하는 정책 추진 기관으로 자리매김하는 것이다. 이를 위해 김장호 구미시장이 이사장을, 이한석 전 한국예총 구미지회장이 대표이사를 맡게 되며, 기본재산 3억 원과 출연금 20억 원을 기반으로 출발한다.

재단의 운영은 구미상공회의소 별관 1층에 위치한 사무실에서 이루어지며, 경영기획, 지역문화팀 등 총 4개 팀 21명의 인력으로 구성될 예정이다. 현재 대표이사 포함 10명이 근무 중이며, 나머지 11명은 추가 채용을 통해 조직을 완성할 계획이다.

김장호 구미시장은 구미문화재단의 출범을 통해 구미시가 독립적이고 차별화된 문화 플랫폼을 구축하고, 문화를 통해 지방시대의 선두주자로 발돋움할 것이라는 기대감을 표명했다. 이를 통해 예술작품의 향유 기회 확대 및 지역사회의 문화적 활력 증진이 기대된다.

구미문화재단 출범은 구미시의 문화예술 생태계에 새로운 활력을 불어넣고, 지역 발전에 중추적인 역할을 할 것으로 전망된다.

Gumi Cultural Foundation to Officially Launch in May, Aiming to Revitalize Regional Culture and Arts

[Gumi, Hwangak Newspaper] Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province has announced the upcoming official launch of the Gumi Cultural Foundation. This initiative aims to enhance the region's cultural competitiveness and support cultural and artistic activities, thereby fostering regional development. Following the completion of the review for the designation notice by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security for local investment and funding organizations in April, the foundation is slated to hold its official inauguration ceremony in May.

The primary role of the foundation will be to serve as a policy implementation organization that promotes cultural projects and supports the autonomous cultural and artistic activities of the citizens. To this end, Gumi City Mayor Kim Jang-ho will serve as the chairman, and former chairman of the Korean Artists Association's Gumi branch, Lee Han-seok, will take on the role of CEO. The foundation will start with a basic property of 300 million won and a contribution of 2 billion won.

The foundation's operations will be based out of an office located on the first floor of the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry annex. It is expected to be run by a total of 21 staff members across four teams including management planning and local culture teams. Currently, including the CEO, ten members are already at work, and an additional eleven members are planned to be recruited to complete the organization.

Mayor Kim Jang-ho expressed his hope that the launch of the Gumi Cultural Foundation will enable Gumi City to establish an independent and distinctive cultural platform and take the lead in opening a new provincial era through culture. This effort is anticipated to expand the opportunities for enjoying artistic works and enhance the cultural vitality of the community.

The inauguration of the Gumi Cultural Foundation is expected to inject new vitality into the cultural and artistic ecosystem of Gumi City and play a pivotal role in the region's development.
