[안동=황악신문] 김서업 기자=경북도의회가 대구시의 일방적인 행정통합 법안 공개에 대해 강력한 반발을 표명했다.

도의회는 대구시가 경북도민과 경북도의회의 의견을 충분히 반영하지 않은 채 독단적으로 법안을 발표한 것에 깊은 유감을 표하며, 이러한 일이 반복될 경우 강경 대응에 나설 것임을 경고했다.

대구시는 지난 14일, 대구경북 행정통합 특별조치법 전문을 공개하며, 이 법안이 양 시도가 교환한 초안을 바탕으로 대구시가 자체적으로 정리한 것이라고 밝혔다. 법안에는 대구와 경북을 통합하여 대구경북특별시를 설치하고, 자치권을 강화하며, 비수도권 경제 거점을 육성하겠다는 내용이 포함됐다.

그러나 경북도의회는 이번 법안이 경북의 입장을 무시하고 대구시의 주장만을 담고 있다고 지적했다. 도의회는 이 법안이 지역 간 갈등을 초래할 수 있는 심각한 사안이라고 경고했다.

경북도의회 대변인은 “이번 사건은 경북도와 대구시 간의 협력 관계를 무시한 행위로, 경북도민의 의견을 배제한 일방적인 결정은 결코 용납할 수 없다”며 “향후 비슷한 상황이 발생할 경우, 우리는 강력하게 대응할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Gyeongbuk Provincial Council Strongly Opposes Daegu's Unilateral Administrative Integration Bill

[Andong, Hwangak News] Reporter Kim Se-eop—The Gyeongbuk Provincial Council has strongly opposed Daegu City's unilateral announcement of a bill for administrative integration.

The council expressed deep regret that Daegu City announced the bill without adequately consulting the residents of Gyeongbuk or the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council, warning that they will take firm action if such actions are repeated.

On the 14th, Daegu City released the full text of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Administrative Integration Special Measures Act, stating that it had independently revised the bill based on drafts exchanged between the two regions. The bill includes provisions for establishing the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Special City, enhancing local autonomy, and fostering an economic hub in non-metropolitan areas.

However, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council criticized the bill for ignoring Gyeongbuk's position and solely reflecting Daegu City's agenda. The council warned that this bill could cause significant regional conflict.

A spokesperson for the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council stated, "This incident disregards the cooperative relationship between Gyeongbuk and Daegu and represents a unilateral decision that excludes the opinions of Gyeongbuk's residents. We cannot tolerate such actions, and we will respond firmly if a similar situation arises in the future."
